With the warmer weather fishing has picked up almost everywhere.
Lake Roosevelt had been getting more action when you can fish between the debries. Pinks and our Orange crush have been on fire. Our boat was on fire catching 11 fish in one 100 yard pass near the basin.
Priest lake has been average to good with lake trout. typical 125' and deeper is were the fish are but look to the shore lines as water warms up and they start feeding. flasher fly combo in uv colors landed us 22 in a short day. Black ice, wonderbread and red uv were hot. Kokanee are nice but hard to come by. Pink was out go too.
Lake Pend oreille has been good for a few rainbows and lake trout are still on the surface. Polar mist, neo and bubblegum are flys for the surface and accounting for most of the fish. Flasher fly combo at 30'-60' has been ok. Ponderay and Black ice. Kokanee fishing is picking up!
Hayden kokanee is still an option. Hot one day and off the next. Pinks are the ticket and i trim the skirt down 1/2". Short leader to the dodger. 50'-70'.
Most small lake are open and people are catching. These lake i like the 2" black ice and blue green flys. Cocololla was hot for smaller rainbows and cutts running the dynamite fly.
Make sure to check out the new 4" superflys. I cannot wait to get them in the water...Tight lines Jeff!
